About this Episode

The greatest goal parents have for their children is giving them the tools to be a functional adult. Author and Founder of "The Parenting Mentor," Sue Groner shares her experience combining what she learned in her professional life and applying it to her parenting at home. Groner parenting approach branches from the CLEARR™ method which focuses on: Communication, Love, Empathy, Awareness, Rules, and Respect. Through her advice, she hopes to provide an ally to parents when they need it most.

On thinking retrospectively on your own childhood while parenting:
_13:59 "I just think it helps when we take that step back and we think about our child."

_14:27 "If we say, hey, try to think back on what you were like when you were those ages. Ask your partner, ask your friends. I mean, none of us were adults at that age. And to have the unrealistic expectation that that's going to happen is bad for everybody. "
